We are pleased to announce that on September 3-6, 2024, we will organize the first spider silk seminar that targets young researchers! The title of the seminar is:
“Spider Silk: from basic concepts to material characterization”
The seminar will provide the participants a broad understanding of the spider silk biology as well as an introduction to how to use different techniques to characterize silk-based materials (e.g. mechanical properties characterization and spectroscopic methods). Among the speakers are selected mentors both from industry and academia.
This is a great opportunity for young researchers to meet and start networking within the silk community, fostering possible future collaborations. For this reason, we have picked up an informal location surrounded by nature (VHC main building in Campus Ultuna, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden). Uppsala is located around 20 minutes train ride north of Stockholm’s main airport (Arlanda). From the central station in Uppsala there are frequent busses to Campus Ultuna.
