In summary
The seminar will provide the participants a broad understanding of the spider silk biology as well as an introduction to how to use different techniques to characterize silk-based materials (e.g. mechanical properties characterization and spectroscopic methods). Among the speakers are selected mentors both from industry and academia.
This is a great opportunity for young researchers to meet and start networking within the silk community, fostering possible future collaborations. For this reason, we have picked up an informal location surrounded by nature (VHC main building in Campus Ultuna, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden). Uppsala is located around 20 minutes train ride north of Stockholm’s main airport (Arlanda). From the central station in Uppsala there are frequent busses to Campus Ultuna.
The seminar is free of charge, but the number of participants is limited to 20. We will provide lunch and a joint seminar dinner, but any additional costs, travel and lodging should be covered by the participants. The seminar will not be possible to attend over link.
